Exploring Fife
Guiding you through the history and remarkable landscapes of the Ancient Kingdom
The Kingdom of Fife is located just to the north of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. Over past centuries Fife was especially favoured by Scottish royalty and was home to the nation’s medieval capital for 300 years. Much of this past remains to be enjoyed today in the form of historic towns, picturesque villages, fascinating palaces and castles. However, it also has much more to offer the discerning visitor – fabulous golf courses, beautiful scenery, delightful gardens and a vibrant arts and crafts scene.
Shirley Scott and Ken Hunter of Exploring Fife are proud to help visitors discover the best this ancient kingdom has to offer, by providing a highly personalised tour service for small groups of between 4 and 8 people accompanied throughout by well-informed guides. From the time you're picked up from your accommodation until your return later in the day you'll travel in comfort, meet interesting people, admire some fascinating sights and enjoy good food in convivial surroundings.
Shirley Scott is Fife born and bred and is passionate about the Ancient Kingdom, its people and its history.
Her mission is a very simple one: to ensure visitors have an Experience of Fife which leaves them feeling they’ve had a good day out, enjoyed gentle exercise while in the company of interesting people, eaten good food and having learned something of what it is that makes Fife so special.
Ken Hunter has lived in Fife most of his life and
is enthusiastic about sharing with our visitors the riches
that our Kingdom has to offer.
He is passionate about the outdoor life and over the years walking
throughout Scotland has occupied a large part of his leisure time.
His skill in landscape photography combines well with his love of
walking and appreciation of the environment and he would be
delighted to share this expertise with anyone who wants to hone
their camera skills. Through his love of the outdoors, he has
developed an interest in the geology and ancient history of
Scotland and Fife in
particular.
